A Touch of Heaven

If you have ever wondered what heaven is like, I believe that I am seeing a touch of it in Wotutu, Cameroon, Africa.  When passing from village to village you see God's wondrous creation. The land is so lush and green.  You see God's hand in it all.  When looking out over the land, you see the hills, the tall trees, and the rolling clouds in the sky with sun beams coming through them.  What a glorious site.  I am reminded of Romans 1:20, "For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."  When you look around Africa, you definitely know that there is a God and that He is alive.  Seeing such beautiful land shows me God's handiwork and gives me a touch of what heaven might be like.  We know that heaven is a beautiful place (Revelation 21).
The other thing that seems like a touch of heaven is the singing and worship that is given to God.  We talk about singing with the spirit and understanding, this is defiantly what is done here.  Everyone with one voice lifts their praises to God and it is such a blessing to be part of this.  We went to a local village yesterday for a bible study period with the local congregation there.  There were I believe I just counted 10 people in all and it sounded like 100.  The people sing with their spirits to the Lord and make a joyful noise unto His name.  What a blessing it has been to lift praises together to our God.
I believe that we can see a touch of heaven around us wherever we are.  God has created everything in its time, and have given us his creation for us to know that there is a God.  Let us strive to serve that God each and every day of our lives so that not only can we see a touch of heaven, but we can be in heaven with Him (John 14:1-6).  May God bless your day.
